You are invited to enter the Miss Marshall County/Miss Appalachian Valley
2020 to be held on Sunday, August 11th, 2019 at Arab High School Arab,
Alabama. Miss Marshall County is a closed pageant and Miss Appalachian
Valley is an open pageant. Young women between the ages of 17 and 24 by
December 31, 2020 are eligible to enter. Miss Marshall County/Miss
Appalachian Valley is a one day pageant.
Contestants will be asked to stay until the evening’s pageant is complete.
Lunch and light snacks with bottled water are provided at the school.
The winner will qualify as a contestant in the Miss Alabama 2020 Pageant.
The winner and runners-up will receive cash and in-kind scholarships and
prizes. Entry deadline is July 31st, 2019 at 5:00 pm.
|2019-2020 Miss Alabama Pageant Requirements and Forms
Each contestant must raise a minimum of $100 for the Children’s Miracle Network to compete in a Miss
Alabama local pageant. If you compete in more than one local pageant, you must raise a minimum of $100
for each local pageant you enter up to a total of $400. Once you have raised a total of $400, you are not
required to raise more money and can enter as many local pageants for which you qualify in the current
pageant year. However, the $400 is just a minimum; you may raise more money for CMN if you wish to do so.
To administer the CMN fund raising, each contestant must do the following:
1. Create your personal web page on the CMN web site (see the CMN MAO Guide.pdf below for details).
2. Raise the required funds for CMN.
3. Print out proof of money raised to bring with you to the local pageant, or mail it in with your other
paperwork. Your minimum CMN funds need to be posted to your CMN personal fund raising page before the
day of the pageant. Checks should be made out to CMN (not the local pageant). Please try to avoid bringing
check with you the day of the pageant.
To enter a Miss Alabama Local Pageant the following items are required:
1. Contestant Resume
2. Contestant Platform Essay
3. Contract Acknowledgement (see link below)
4. Local Contract (contact each local pageant for their local contract)
5. Photo (contact each local pageant for their photo requirements)
6. Proof of Children’s Miracle Network fund raising (see Contract Acknowledgement)

Become a Rising Star (Age 7-11)
Rising Star Application
We will only accept 10 Teen and 10 Miss Rising Stars.
Once that number is reached, your name will be added to a waiting list.
The Miss Marshall County/Miss Appalachian Valley organization will once again host the Rising
Star program for its contestants. Young girls between the ages of 7 and 11 will participate in an
afternoon event, and will be a part of the show on Saturday evening. Girls will need Kathi shorts
for opening number and a solid color church dress for on stage events. The fee is $50 for the
Rising Stars. Existing Rising Star may remain with their contestant if they compete in the
Miss/Outstanding Teen Marshall County/Appalachian Valley Pageant. The Miss/Outstand Teen
must send her Rising Stars Name in with her Entry. If a Rising Star does not have a Miss or Teen
the Rising Star will randomly draw a contestant at the Little Miss Pageant on Saturday. Rising Star
will remain with their contestant throughout the year and participate in the Miss/Outstanding Teen
Alabama Pageant. The fee for the Rising Star to participate in the Miss Alabama Pageant will be
paid by Miss Marshall County Organization. Teen and Miss Contestants: It is very important if you
have a Rising Star that you contact them and have them enter our event. Miss Marshall
County/Miss Appalachian Valley will be required to take the Rising Star to Miss Alabama from this
